On the HP Mini specifically, the adapter plug as shipped will be intermittent because the plastic rim will not let it go in the few extra millimeters to seat properly.The original adapter has a slightly smaller diameter plastic (think iPhone headphone) and a little more metal showing.
Using an Xacto or other knife, removing and/or beveling the plastic at the base of the plug so the plug has more of the metal shaft showing and can clear the upper edge of the socket cures the problem.
This is in a bundle, but it would apply to any of the packages or individual adpaters sold here.
Beyond this problem, it works well and the extra USB charging port (that won't attempt to connect) is very convenient for my iPod and phone.
