(More customer reviews)I'd bought a Sumo laptop sleeve for my personal laptop, and I decided to pick up this bag for my work laptop.At first blush, it's a fine bag.The laptop section is very well padded (in the usual Sumo style).The straps are a solid leather.The side compartment has divided sections for notepads, papers, and pens.In general, the bag's most positive quality is that the construction and materials are very solid. Unfortunately, after a few days of use, some relatively fundamental design issues made me decide to return this bag.Any of these issues on their own wouldn't have been enough to outweigh the design and quality of the bag's construction, but all together, the bag is more frustration than it is worth.
The straps are not long enough to put over your shoulder with any sort of coat on.The worst part is that they're only perhaps an inch or two off.They're also incredibly uncomfortable, as they aren't padded at all.They don't sit flat when you're carrying it, such that the bag twists and dangles oddly.
The zippers for the compartments only go about 1/3 of the way around the bag.This means that if you want to find something in the storage compartment, it's difficult to get inside easily.There's a black hole in the "far" corner of each pocket that is just not as accessible as it should be. Also, because there's only one zipper on the track, you can't open the bag only partway (e.g., to pull out a pen without exposing your entire contents).
Lastly, the bag itself is just a tad too small.With the laptop in along with a cordless mini-mouse and charger in the storage compartment, the zippers won't close.To me, the minimum a laptop bag (note: BAG, not sleeve) should hold is a mini-mouse and a charger, and this misses those basics.Even without the charger, the mini-mouse is a tight fit.Basically, you're only going to be able to put flat items in the storage compartment.
With this extra knowledge, I invite you to make your own decision on this.The bag has alot of good qualities, but the little design flaws are something you have to be willing to forgive.It's a shame.The color is gorgeous, and it hugs my laptop like a protective glove.
